¡§I
started learning karate in 1971. My shihan was Mr. Lam King Fung. After nine months practice, I was promoted to the green belt level. During that time, I was trained daily, five to six days a week for hour and a half each time. Six months later, I was then promoted to the brown belt level. At that time, I was trained twice a day, five to six days a week. In 1973, the Hong Kong Karate Association organized the first open competition in Hong Kong. I won the individual championship and our group won the group championship that year. In the following year, I started teaching karate as my full-time career assisting Shihan Lam King Fung at two dojos, one in Kowloon location and the other in Yuen Long, New Territories. We also worked with six schools to train their students. After immigrating to Vancouver, Canada in 1988, I joined the Canada Seiwa-Kai until now.¡¨
